Jaime Casap, Google and Arizona State University’s School of Public Programs
Connecting with the Millennial Generation
The Millennial generation has grown up in the digital era, and has a unique perspective on how to communicate and collaborate. They are also passionate about many social issues and are using their “technology know how” to bring about positive change to their community and the world. Their technological skills, communication savvy, and overall "online" attitude to everything makes it important to understand who this generation is, how they communicate, how they collaborate, what they respond to, and why local government is missing this prime “service inclined” generation.
Jaime Casap has been playing in the technology space for more than 14 years in a variety of roles. He has fervor for helping organizations take advantage of technology. He also has a passion for helping organizations utilize technology as a communication and collaboration tool and has recently helped a number or organizations understand how the Millennial Generation will change how we use social media and technology.
Jaime is currently a Business Development Manager at Google. In his role, he is responsible for evangelizing Google Apps to universities and K-12 school districts in North, Central, and South America. He provides educational institutions with creative ideas and solutions for utilizing and driving technology adoption in their environments.
Jaime is also a Faculty Associate at Arizona State University’s School of Public Programs, where he teaches classes in Organizational Behavior, Leadership, and Innovation.
Jaime also serves on the Board of Directors for the Digital Antiquity Initiative, a Mellon Foundation Funded ASU Initiative and on the Board of Directors for New Global Citizens, a non-profit, which educates, equips and mobilizes young people to help solve the greatest challenges faced by communities around the world.
David Fitzsimmons, The Arizona Daily Star
A Cartoonist’s Perspective on 2010... So Far
David Fitzsimmons is 54 and should know better. Cartoonist and editorial writer for The Arizona Daily Star since 1986, Fitz is syndicated to over 700 news publications-- which is timely since there are only 700 newspapers left in the world at this time. A Pulitzer Finalist in 1988, his award-winning cartoons have drawn fire and praise.
When he is not at his drawing board slinging ink, or cranking out editorials he is entertaining audiences tossing out zingers and quick sketch cartoons and caricatures. Known as the “Fastest draw west of the Potomac” Fitz has opened for PBS’s Mark Russell and has performed his chalk talks across the country.
David will share his unique perspective on the world we live in and places we work, and inspire us in the call to public service!
